Prairie Frontier Trails Association was formed to address the relative void of trails in Northwest Kansas compared to other parts of our state, and the neighboring states. While our charitable-purpose is to design, build, and manage trails of all use-types, our mission is to connect people with the outdoors, and connect communities with each other. Here are the ways we plan to do that:

Standards-based Design

Trail planning using well-established, best practices for each intended user group. Prairie Frontier Trails provides training in construction techniques, and a battery of tools specific to trail-building so that once funding is in place, we can streamline construction. Improving safety, protecting the land, and simplifying maintenance without spoiling the experience. We believe the results are worth the extra time up front.

Ongoing Oversite

Responsive management of enrolled trails provides peace-of-mind to landowners and reduced frustration for trail users when nature rears its destructive force.

Involved Membership

Membership is more than financial support. Prairie Frontier Trails members are involved with all aspects of trail development: they serve on committees, lead work-teams, and steer the expansion of trail projects. Become a member today…

Sponsored Activities

Prairie Frontier Trails sponsors a variety of activities around our managed trails designed to support trail use and engage communities with trail-centered outdoor recreation. From concerts and tournaments, to our special teams like the drone team, we try to offer something for everyone out on the trail. Maybe your business would consider sponsorship?
