A little something for everyone – and some trails for everyone, regardless of (dis)ability.

Trails that show off the austere beauty of our prairie frontier.

Where will trails take you?

To meet a new friend? To better health? To your favorite fishing spot? To the next town over? To something or someplace beautiful that you’ve never seen before? Trails transport us, whether it is literally or figuratively, or both. Research proves the benefit people receive physically, mentally, and emotionally from using a trail. Whether its hiking or on the back of your ATV, there is something magical that takes place within our bodies and our souls.

Trails provide other benefits. They connect communities with each other. They foster commerce and conversation, as well as civic pride. Trails improve access to hunting and fishing, which in turn benefits the state as a whole.

Who are we?

Prairie Frontier Trails Association is a Kansas non-profit formed to address the relative void of trails in Northwest Kansas compared to other parts of our state, and the neighboring states. Our mission is to connect people with the outdoors, and connect communities with each other. We accomplish that through our charitable purpose, building a network of linear and looping trails. We also engage our members as volunteers on the trail, and we host events that highlight our trails. Learn more about our mission, vision, and values on our Mission page.
